something weird is happening, help?

all of the sudden when i play quake it will say
"name" is: "Rat218" default is: "UnnamedPlayer"

it happens every couple of minutes and is REALLY annoying.
is there any way to fix this? god i hope so, its bugging the crap out of me :icon23: :icon27:

Check your config and search for "name". You've prolly bound a button to \bind x name and nothing more. It'll output that if you press the designated key.

already tried that and it doesn't work. no bound button

i could just sit there with the console up and it will still pop up.

Don't run xfire. I found that xfire has been lagging me out in a lot of games, mainly quake 3 engine games.

I've had that problem too.

Good to know it's xfire.

I should check to see if it comes up when running the xfire plugin for Pidgin.
