I haven't played the game in so long that I wasn't aware that this even happened. Apparently EA doesn't like you to play on P&K servers. Oh well, I was done with the game anyway.

Are you serious? I've never heard of any developer/publisher poo pooing the player's ability to expand the gameplay beyond the original design. But if it's EA I'm not surprised....fuckin Nazis.

that's the bit that lost me - surely their stats thing could detect/filter servers with only one or two MODs or just exclude them from ranking. silly wankers.

P&K isn't a MOD, simply a rule that is enforced by the server Admin. Playing by P&K rules you can score several hundered more points per game, which EA calls stat padding.

I agree that it's stupid, but I don't make the rules. Either way I'm pretty much done with BF2 and never really played BF2142. I may play again from time to time, though I'm really waiting to see what this new game "Front Line" is all about.
