XP - Vista Dual Boot

Post by Denz »

I want to make my gamming rig a XP and Vista Dual boot computer.

Is this even possible? If it is, how would you guys go about doing this?

1. Would you have two hdd's and install XP on one and Vista on the other?

2. Partition one drive and Install it that way?

The purpose of this is that I want to play some of my older games that will play on XP just fine but won't play on Vista and I want to play some of the newer games coming out that will have DX10.

Since I have never set up a dual boot system before I will need to know how to go about doing this.

Thanks guys.

I got it to work!! w00t!!! I did however had to rewrite the boot.ini file for XP and placed it in the Vista Root folder. Works like a charm. :)

I've been dual booting xp and vista for a while now. Probably leave it that way. No problems to report either. I have mine installed on seperate drives with a third for storage and games.

That's exactly like I have mine set up too. I like having the ability of playing my older games and play the new games that are coming out here in the near future.
