gauntlet
I'm sure that'll work for anyone.... :icon29:JB wrote:i use Q for gl, works fine
@CyAne: I think Rat218 wants to use MHWEELUP/DOWN for weapnext and weapprev and being able to select the gauntlet with that too. That's not possible without some scripting though, which causes some undesired behaviour usually. I've always found MOUSE3 (yes, clicking the mousewheel) an easy/accessible button for gauntlet. Not everyone likes this though, but I never spin the mousewheel by accident when I press M3 so it works for me.

Yeah me too =)tombston3r wrote:/bind MWHEELUP weapon 1 ftw!
i use that for gaunt only.
@Oeloe: Oops, I must have misunderstood then =)
But if that's the case I advice you this Rat218; Don't scroll thru weapons, bind each to an individual key!
If you really, really don't want too, Oeloe's suggestion of using MOUSE3 for the gauntlet is a good choice.
I personally have a smilie bound to that one :]
Or you could just use macros on your keyboard (assuming you have a gaming keyboard)v1l3 wrote:The scrollbar is pointless...prevents weapon combos. If you have all of the weapons and you want to switch from RL to RG....SG to PG to LG to RG....nade nade to LG to RG....SG to BFG

Get used to bindin memorization. Finger dancing.

And how would you go about that?aparoid_x wrote:Or you could just use macros on your keyboard (assuming you have a gaming keyboard)v1l3 wrote:The scrollbar is pointless...prevents weapon combos. Let's say you use WASD to move, you would have to move your hand off WASD to the macro/Gkeys and back.
Unless you have extreemly long fingers :icon32:
Nope..I don't use a gaming keyboard..and I don't even know what "macros" is. =? I don't use WASD either...my hands are way to big to be using the normal keyboard keys...so.......this is my setup:
bind KP_DOWNARROW "weapon 1"
bind KP_END "weapon 2"
bind KP_LEFTARROW "weapon 3"
bind DEL "weapon 4"
bind ENTER "weapon 5"
bind SHIFT "weapon 6"
bind PGDN "weapon 7"
bind KP_INS "weapon 8"
bind KP_DEL "weapon 9"
bind END "+movedown;+zoom"
bind KP_HOME "+button2"
bind UPARROW "+forward"
bind DOWNARROW "+back"
bind LEFTARROW "+moveleft"
bind RIGHTARROW "+moveright"
bind CTRL "+movedown"
....I figured the arrow keys are what they are...and I just bound the weapons all around them...works for me, it's easy to feel your way around also..rather than a bunch of keys all crowded together. I'm a guitar player, so I'm accustomed to learning to feel my way around the neck, so why not do it for a keyboard :icon25:

a macro is basically setting one keystroke to do multiple commands
a simple one would be a little trickery.
have gauntlet out and run around in a ffa so it looks like you're essentially helpless
bind h 'weapon 3; attack; weapon 1'
so you hit H and it switches to SSG, immediately fires a shotgun blast, then immediately (as soon as possible) switches back to gauntlet.
macros are more popular in games like warcraft, though in the broader sense i've used "macros" in various configs for tdm and coaching

You should be able to scroll to the gauntlet with weapprev and weapnext. It always worked for me with weapprev when the machinegun was selected, except in a release of the mod called CPMA, where it wouldn't work. I think it works in CPMA now, it's a while since I've tried it.
For those saying you should just bind it cause it's quicker; weapprev (mousewheel down) when the machinegun is selected goes striaght to the gauntlet cause that's the previous weapon in the list. So it's just as fast.
(Weapprev and weapnext are what the scroll wheel down and up are bound to, for those that don't know.)
