Bought a new lens today.....it's a very old MF Nikkor 28mm f2.8....I think it's AI-S so it's probably around 30 years old, no metering. There are plenty scratches on the front and back optics....lens is metal, but worn. I paid 40 euros for it...shot a few photos already.
Quite a challenge now to set the proper shutter speed corresponding to the aperture you've set.
I can get pretty sharp results with it.....but there's a haze and/or softness when there's harsh sunlight....the little scratches are probably worsening it...or the coating isn't what is used to be :-)
Got my 17-40L a couple of days ago but haven't test it out yet properly, just took some pictures of a mate, but I'm really loving the lense (ofcourse, my first lense was a 50mm F1.8).

Is that a custom flash thing? I could do with something exactly like that if you're kind enough to hook me up....

lol dave, pretty awesome that in the right hands one can enhance a pic so nice in so little time just by playing with photoshoppe (talking bout the tree shot)
danke, sir. I think the exposure was two minutes, so the color is partially the result of reciprocity failure--what happens to film when you expose it for longer than it was designed.
You can download the Lightroom trial to see some presets the gallery is capable of or you can look at my source and steal my style. The source of the page has references to a couple of xml files that define the styles, language and photo locations/descriptions. Photoshop Elements 5 also uses it.
