More info.

"Won't let me" = ?
Does that mean you're just trying to add them in-game? The map is probably missing a bot file.

How about a link to the map? I have no idea what map you're talking about.

Someone might make you a bot file, but they need the map to do it. Also, if the map doesn't have bots, then whoever made it probably either couldn't make it bot friendly (for whatever reason) and/or didn't take the time to optimize it properly for bots, so they might suck. :)

Edit: Okay, I checked it out--it's easily findable by Google (try "q3tower"), and it does have an .aas (botfile) included, but the timestamp on the .aas is older than the .bsp, so it won't initialize properly. :icon27:

Edit2: There's a newer version (by a day or two) of the map available on this page: http://www.giraffe-hunter.com/tower.htm but that pk3 doesn't include a bot file at all?

No no no, I am certain I added the .aas. And even the old axbaby/foo version had a .aas. That can't be it.
Btw pjw, it's the q3tower attempt map.

If you download the pk3 from the page above, there is no .aas in that pk3. I promise. And the one you can find through Google (on Filefront) is hosed because of the timestamp issue.

I just made an .aas and it seems to work, but I hesitate to upload a newer version of the pk3, since I have nothing to do with this map.

Howsabout you repairing the pk3, or linking to a working one? :)

This is a really cool map..I thought the only city maps were Dangercity, Quatrix and Chronic...but this gives them the run for the money :icon25:
I read the readme in the .pk3, but when was this map made? Plus..is their a place to download Fender's Q3Tower Mod...I hate missing map releases :icon23: .

Dig up the tower attempt vid and watch it, it sorta explains why we made it and how it ended up being used. I think there's a date on the video.

You could put the .aas in a seperate pk3 and it'd work without modifying the original at all.

It's also on the link pjw posted along with the mod and a demo.

Scratch that, the links on the site seem to be dead. I'm sure I have the stuff somewhere, just gotta dig it up.

Doh. Good point. For some reason I didn't even think of that at the time...

One of these days I hope to do another version of this map that's more playable in a general sense.

I think ax is too busy with hot SA chicks to collab though ;(

Too embarassed to post them, did more optimizing of gameplay than real lighting :icon32:. I'll make it up when we resurrect it :).

Just download it from scourge's webspace.
