When I moved into this house we had the weirdest spiders I have ever seen. The house had been vacant for almost a year.

From what I understand Spiders are attracted to the smell of paint, and with all the painting they have been coming out in droves. I got the problem under control by buying this indoor outdoor bug spray. Spray 4" bead along the wall in the basement and around the perimeter and no bugs living by the time they reach the other side.

Other great tools are a shop vac and a hockey stick with a napkin on each end. the butt is good for the big jobbies and the blade for getting into the corners.

about 3cm long.

It climbed into a hole before i could smash it, I sprayed the hole forever with bug spray, but im dreading going to bed tonight.

Spiders are fine. Roaches are not.

The only things i truly fear are flying critters that sting, such as wasps and hornets.

Bees, for some reason, i have no issues with.

I don't have a problem with spiders either. Horse flies on the other hand, some of them are the size of my thumb, they sound like a fucking WWII fighter plane zooming around, and they bite off a huge, painful hunk of meat when they bite. Fucking nasty critters.

When i was a kid i stepped onto a wasp nest and got stung 29 times in a space of two minutes... once on the tongue because i kept screaming. That was fun, being followed by a huge cloud of angry wasps. I'm still a bit traumatized by that shit, when i hear something i can't see buzz around my head i'm diving in corners and swatting at nothingness maniacally - before i even realize i'm doing it.

Half the time it's an ordinary goddam fly as well, makes me feel very silly.

And yeah, horse flies can fuck right off as well. :icon14:

You try making a bunch of wasps angry and not getting stung in akward places.

On the plus side, the whole tragedy made me practically immune to their poison for a while there. Next time one of those bastards got me, i hardly even noticed...
