When playing Quake III: Arena online I am sometimes taken off of the game, brought back to my desktop, and being shown a message along the lines of, "quake3.exe has stopped working..." or something like that.
Has this happened to anyone before? It'll just happen in the middle of matches a lot.
Any remedy?

That's pretty much exactly what it said.Foo wrote:You're gonna need to provide way more detail than 'or something like that'.
"quake3.exe has stopped working"
And then there's the usual, "Windows is searching for a solution to this problem."
"Live! Live the P. Dee way! P. Lee not P. Dee! Hahahahaha!"
OK. Well outright crashes are uncommon with a proper installation of Quake 3 so I would go through and update all of your graphics, soundand motherboard chipset drivers to the latest versions, then list all of your PC hardware here as well as system temperatures (there's monitoring apps for this a google search away).
Also the basics... update to the latest version of Q3, try running with and without PB installed by renaming the PB folder in the Q3 folder to something else then relaunching the game. etc etc.
All of this will help narrow the issue down.
