It would need to be able to connect to a router via Ethernet, some of those won't I believe.
Would it be better to just take the $75 from Bell South, or would picking up one of those be best, if so, which one?

Buy your own modem, but don't get any of the Speedstreams. They're pretty defective. My Speedstream 4200's power switch is held in place with carefully-positioned and precision-folded bits of paper
Funny thing is, I got it for free. Before ordering DSL from B2B2C, I had Bell Sympatico free for 3 months. When the 3 months were up, I kept the modem and when they demanded that I send it back, I just told them I don't have a modem and that their database must be mistaken. Idiots believed me $150 for a shitty modem? No thanks.
Do you guys have a list dsl modems and which isps suport them? I have sbc ameritech (midwest) with a 2yr old speedstream, and I think I need to replace it (my internet gets cut off randomly)
I would prefer something decent, one that is better than average (I'd consider these free speedstreams they give away pretty average)
Well there is a deal, for people switching services like me, that gives you the $75 modem for free, so I could start with that and if it was a PoS then I could purchase my own modem and use it, correct?
