Info on how to use custom skins in online play?

Does anyone know how to use custom skins for online play, i know it can be done but how?

submit your skin/s to whoever owns/runs the server and then if autodownloads are enabled, others will be able to see your skin. But if its not on the server, then I think no one else will see it,

tbh, most players use force enemy model anyhows, so custom skins are not useful

yes, unless the server (or another player) has that custom skin, no one else will see you using it. they will see you using the default which is sarge(?). I think if you want to be able to see it, you have to choose that skin as your model, then use force skins, so all players appear to have the same skin as you. do a google search for "keen quake3 console" and look at that site for the forcemodel command.

thanks for the info, im assuming the second to last post i think had the command to force models ill try that and see if it works. i have these really cool skins just want them to work if anyones interested i got most of em from

they are pretty good check em out 60 some pages of custom skins.

I have 3 skins, spongebob, gumby and cheekypoo ( :paranoid: ) in my baseq3 folder as pk3 files. They only work on unpure servers, so on some unpure baseq3 servers, I can use them, and in so doing, all the other players look the same as the skin I'm using, but only I can see it. The reason I use them is because they're bright yellow and green, and easier for me to see than the standard baseq3 force color mode. Kinda similar to the green keel enemy model I use on osp.
