Don't be, it's fun. I'm really enjoying playing with deployables. Just played a few rounds as Opressor, it's great to pound people with artillery, and then when you get the Increased Accuracy Lacerator you can snipe people pretty good while waiting for your artillery to reload.

dont think minimum specs have been officially released yet? suppose its a bit higher than q4's.

the fileplanet download thingy only accepts a certain level though. better to lie, get a key and then torrent the thing

ah, well you probably need a A64 3200+ or faster, or a 3GHz P4 or any Core Duo

And I'd say at least a GeForce 6800GT ~ 7600GT or a Ati X800XT

A 6600 may work at 1024x768 or so

At least 1GB RAM too, if you don't want to spend 10 minutes waiting for the map to load.

There are no official minimum specs afaik

btw, I'm happy I was allowed to get a key using my real system specs -- seems like a good sign.

I'm not happy that I'm only getting around 20k on the torrent so far -- but it's only been going for about 15-20 minutes.

it really doesn't tbh - have been playing mostly 360 games of late and in comparison (baring in mind my pc hardware pisses on the 360 for spec) it's really pretty shite -

having said that I appreciate that the beta is more for feedback on hardware, gameplay etc .. and all is compressed and much detail is prolly missing for sake of 850mb d/l

dunno - definitely going to check out a demo before I pay for this game..

all of the gfx issues aside - the netcode is a little poor (though not much worse than bf series) and whole thing just doesn't quite work for me

Looks decent, it's a MP game so smooth > pretty

Talking about the netcode - I'm surprised but I haven't felt it lag once. Not a single time, it's been smooth as butter for me, with a 40-60 ping to the UK servers.

Comparing it to BF2 where you got severe lag if you and enough people were caught near an artillery strike, this has been perfectly smooth even when the middle base is full of people and both teams pound it with orbital strikes, artillery and deployables.

Granted, it's a pretty small map, maybe the larger maps will be more demanding.
