hey guys i wasnt sure where to post this...
ive been playing tfc since it released. i stopped playing for awhile then came back and so on and so forth. ive always played in leagues so i know what thats all about. i was pretty bored today so i decided to install quake 3, but i cant find the disc. i have a few questions though...
does the majority of the quake community play Q3 or Q4 now, both pub syle and competitive? TFC is dying so we have an irc channel with a bot that allows us to start our own pickup games such as 2v2, 3v3, and 4v4s. does quake 3/4 have this? and if so what is the server/channel? Also, is there a more in-depth forum based on the quake community? TFC has one, http://thecatacombs.net/ , just a forum about league preds/results, general topics, etc etc. (sorry im not advertising im just trying to give an example)
anyway, i gotta go. thanks for the info!!
new to quake but not CTF
Most of the "Team Fortress" community has pretty much dwindled away. One of the most popular Fortress mods for Quake 3 was Q3F, but recently it was ported to Wolfenstein Enemy Territory to make it totally free. ETF is a small community of gamers, but you can still find players playing online at almost any given time of the day.
One server still does the gather thing with an IRC bot and the pubs also see action daily. More info and the downloads can be found at http://www.planetetf.com
There was a Q4F mod released as an alpa recently and released with the source code.
