few questions

im on my way to work and i havnt really had time to research...

anyway, this ET: QW game, do i need to have Q3 and ET? i went here http://www.planetetf.com/downloads.html and it says that thats free. i guess my question is: what exactly do i need to be able to play ET: QW?

The game. When it comes out. And a PC that can run it.

Its nothing much to do with previous games, except for a few of the 'story' elements.

It's a standalone game, that will be on sale -- I assume for $49.99 -- in most retail stores in a few months.

Sounds like you might be a bit confused:

Quake 3 is a stand-alone retail game.

Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory (from which that mod you linked to is based) is a stand-alone game that was supposed to be retail but didn't quite make it, so they released it as a free download. It uses the Quake 3 engine, but that's where the similarities end.

Enemy Territory: Quake Wars is a brand new game that isn't out yet. It will be a retail game based on the newer Doom 3 engine.
