why am I so stupid?

Post by bork[e] »

The question of why is water wet cannot be answered with regular science methodology, but can be answered in Zen Physics. Water is wet because this is the nature of water. The nature of rock is to be hard. The nature of grass is to be green. The nature of water is to be wet. To take away from its true nature is to destroy what is and thus water is not water anymore. It may be ice, but it surely is not water. Water begets wetness. Wetness begets slipperiness. Slipperiness begets falling etc..

Water is wet, because wet is the word we made up to describe water.

Pretty simple, innit?

water isn't wet, it's our experience of water that is wet

lol, the similar thinking burn rate is high during what brief time I have with my online friends.

Nature is the key concept in this thread. Yet it's nothing but a descriptive word, as well. One which can be used to describe nothing or something, in this case, it's up to the reader to decide.

Borke, Māori archetypal classical elements? I'm totally smiling out loud at your obvious inter-flirting with Chiq!

Not in the traditional sense of the word, no. If we re-define it as an abstracted (and thereby simplified) description of certain patterns of neural activity, maybe. But haven't we then moved a little bit too far away from the original meaning of the term?
