Ah yeah I thought I knew that line from somewhere. Wasn't talking about the text tho, it was the way he said it. Quick, silent, annoyed, uninterested, hard to describe but it displays quite nicely the message of "action should've been taken much earlier", "it's even past the point of impeachement", "you could've seen this crap coming from miles away fools" in his speech.

Wondering about this tho, are any of you U.S. bounded twats considering taking action (or have done so)?

There isn't much we can do, the purpose of having armed militias was to overthrow the government when they got like this, but it's pretty much useless now since small arms aren't going to do much against the government forces.

Mass-protests don't get unnoticed and are useful for plenty of reasons. There are other things you can do aswell besides goin postal.. It just strikes me that so little people are actively trying to do something about the downfall of the place they live in. How do you put up with that crap??

Am I crazy here? The president is a fucking wackjob, the entire political structure comes across as a joke. Same goes for many, many legislations. Fucking 90% of U.S.ians believe in pink-unicorn like shit. You really don't mind living in a country like that?

I definitely have considered moving to another country, but it's hard when your degree will be useless, and you have a girlfriend intent on working in the US. My brother actually moved out of the country for those reasons two years ago and he'll be coming back to visit in a couple weeks. I may do it should I be able to secure a job, and save up enough.

I agree to some extent. The protesting may have been a cause to stopping the Vietnam war, but i don't think politicians these days care a whole lot about them. Before the Iraq war got underway there were massive global demonstrations, and look what good that did.

But how about a little civil disobedience then? Or writing letters to congressmen, or simply spreading information in your surroundings?

The economy is (still) going well enough for people not to really care. As long as people can afford driving around in their SUVs and having a beer in front of the TV content in knowing that they have a job to go to in the morning, nothing is really going to change.

But as the US is slowly but surely building a huge deficit there will some day be a backlash, which unfortunately probably drag the entire world down into a great recession.

It's called "laying down tools" and it's usually used by labourers for a day or an hour to "make a point". It is not a strike. Perhaps if the whole US just stopped working for an hour maybe people will get the point? Dunno.

I don't agree at all. It's not about the politicians to begin with. Politicians are merely employees (at least, they should be). It's about the psychological and katalisizyizing(whut?sp?) effect on the rest of the U.S. residents and the rest of the world. There's a great deal of discontent for the U.S. in the western world, all waiting for some sign that Americans themselves are as fed up with this crap as they are.

Besides it's retarted not to even try. The fuck is a one-day march worth compared to the destruction of a nation?

The only 'weight' you have to throw around is your vote, and that's been proven to be pretty much meaningless. Letters to congressmen? HA! The Dems swept the recent elections on a mandate for change and what's happened? NOTHING. Because congress is a bunch of pussies that refuse to do anything because they either a.) Want to stay in office or b.) Love all the money that corporate contributors throw at them to buy their votes.
The only way any of this will change is if we start mass boycotts of products made by the douchebags that hold the giant bags of money.
