So... I picked up an Apple iMac for cheap. 17" Core Duo, 512MB, 160GB, ATI X1600. It's really just an expensive (or relatively cheap considering the price I got for it) toy. I'll probably run some video editing stuff off of it and maybe Photoshop, though I do that now on my main Windows PC.
Anyway, I'm looking at increasing the RAM just a bit. I'm glad the existing RAM module is just a single 512 stick, so I still have room for another one.
I popped out the RAM and it's labeled as 512MB PC2-5300S-555 DDR2 667, CL5
Unless anyone thinks I need more, I think adding another 512 should do okay.
I've been comparing prices between two Canadian computer stores and I'm a little confused with the pricing:

I always thought NCIX was generally cheaper, but there are some huge differences in comparison with Canada Computers... unless I'm missing something.
Any suggestions?
Apple memory upgrades.

Thanks. The prices at Canada Computers threw me off a bit. I didn't think a stick of 512MB laptop RAM would be as cheap as $30. I haven't been keeping up with RAM prices.
There are a few Canada Computers shops in Toronto, so I'll just head down sometime. Tiger Direct is a bit out of my way in Scarborough.
"Put Windows on the Mac"
Yup, that's the plan. Just for fun. My main Windows box is still pretty decent.
