Cheers q3w!
I guess the money is good when you do that, but I'd hate to loose any holidays, 4 weeks a year max for me.Scourge wrote:Cheers.

I get around 3 to 4 weeks of vacation a year. I usually end up actually taking 1 week and selling the rest.

what's the diff between vacation and personal days?R00k wrote:i have 2 weeks vacation (meaning 10 days), 5 sick days, 4 personal days, and 7 holidays.seremtan wrote:lol, two weeks. i have 27 days + 11 public holidays/xmas
if i stay here another 6 months my vacation goes up to 3 weeks.
i don't even know how many sick days i have. definitely more than 5
So you guys have a set number of sick days? Our system works a bit differently. The first day of a period of sickness you don't get paid at all, then your employer pays you the following 10 days. After that the government steps in and pays you for a month (I think) at reduced pay (80%), then you get it reduced even more (70% or so) for the next 30 days and so on. So if you're only away sick a day here and there you lose pay, but if it's something serious and you're sick for a couple of weeks, you only lose pay for that first day, which is good.
Also, you can take up tp 120 days off at 80% pay per year per child if they're sick too. But they have been talking of making the first day go without pay, just like the sick days, and it caused quite a stir among parents.

sounds good. i omitted to mention time off in lieu since i never use that. 9 to 5 suits me just fineDave wrote:I get 4.8 work weeks per year, plus I can accrue 423 hours for a total of about 52 days/10.4 work weeks. With mine I don't really have sick days. It's a PTO(paid time off) system. Every pay period I get 4.62 hours added and when I get more than 40 I can take a week off or let it build for a couple years and take off a couple of months. I think I can build up to 300 or so hours before it caps. Also, the longer you work there the more hours per pay period you get.Grudge wrote:So you guys have a set number of sick days? Mostly I sell the hours when it's rained a lot and I don't work much that pay period. I guess it kinda evens out.S@M wrote:
