Does MSN messenger create logs of conversations by default? Or is there a way to snoop someones messages? if on the same workgroup.
A have a freind who is having a bit of trouble with his kids and wants to be able to see what they are talking abouit on msn.

Not by default, the user normally has to explicitly enable conversation logging.
If they have, the chat logs will be in :
[Drive]:\Documents and Settings\[Windows Account]\My Documents\My Received Files\[start of msn account name followed by a string]\History

He went into file, options, and then conversatin and the opiton to "save my conversations" is greyed out.
How can he enable this, or do you have to be logged in to do it.

That setting is not system-wide its per-user and can only be changed for the currently logged in user for their own account.

I guess they need to take it away.
Anyway, thanks for the help.
