Networking Problem
Well tomorrow I am going over to someone's house to try and fix a networking problem. Their router has a very spotty wireless connection, however, I believe that to be cause the modem is sitting on top of the router and blocking its airvents. The second problem is that the dude wants his 360 to connect to his computer and share the wireless connection. I had been over there once and I connected the 360 to the PC via ethernet and turned on ICS in Vista, it didn't want to go. Anyone got any suggestions?

What router is it?
try using WPA2 and AES for wireless, this usually helps out on spotty connections..
Second of all, place the modem BESIDE the router, so they both can breathe..
And what was ICS doing? Not giving it an IP? Where you still able to access the internet at this time?
is him Buying a longer cable/wireless adapter out of the question?
i am not fure sharing it through ICS, then Live will need to pass though Two Set's of NAT's before Getting out the Gateway and may cause some major issues.

I was intending on telling them to take the modem off of the router. When the 360 was connected the computer still got internet, but when running the 360 network diagnostic it kept halting at IP address. I am assuming a longer cable isn't going to work because it goes up a story and across a room, so hardwiring the 360 to the router won't work.

Not yet, I was only there a short while. So you are sugggesting I manually give the 360 an IP and then on the gateway address I enter in the IP of the router, I will try that, if the router will work long enough for me to try. The other problem is that both the computers they have are bogged down with so much shit, I think I saw 5 toolbars on one of the internet explorers. I am taking my laptop in hopes of easier connection with the router.
