cant view baseq3 cfg file in vista

Post by crazzyfrog »

i just put a fresh install of vista 32bit on my computer. ok all is well aside from 2 problems. first i cannot view my config file. all o can see is "do not modify" and rest is blank. and second my fps is slow and choppy, at lowest settings even. had 2000server and fps was pegged at 125 all the time now its 20 to 80 and never steady.
but i cant get into my config to change any settings so it could be rate or somthing. :icon33: anyway help..

Delete the file and start up Q3, it'll recreate the file for you (hopefully proper this time). You'll lose your settings of course.

are you sure you have the latest drivers for your video card?

and what hardware are you running?

I'm under the impression that the quake3 or baseq3 folder has the read-only flag set. If that isn't the case, it might be worth trying to run Q3 as administrator.
