Temporary FTP access to web server.

I have a web server. I'm wondering how I can set up a temporary FTP account for other uses to access just one directoy (and it's subdirectories) so that they can download and upload files.

Err... actually, I should have given a little more info. The web server is rented from 1and1 along with my domain.

So I would like them to log in to a directory on my rented server and upload files. I'm not sure that the links you provided will do exactly that (still reading over them).

See, you dident say that...

i figured you where running a webserver at home and etc, and just needed to get a FTP app installed..

Talk to your hosting company, and they should be able to set you up with another FTP account that just does the Dir/permissions that you want.

Yeah, sorry... forgot to mention that. I think I (mostly) figured it out from the web hosting control panel. Thanks.
