As I have been for rhe last 3 years my PC has been the same spec.

Athlon XP 3200 (had since launch day).
1.5GB DDR 400 Ram
440GB's worth of HD space.
Radeon x800 Pro 256mb AGP card (had since launch too)

Ive worked in a computer shop for the last 6 years now and ive seen all the new hardware come and go. but TBH ive not wanted any new upgrades now. Ive never really wanted my PC as a gaming rig. Only had and played Q3 when it was too late (im crap too btw). But the last games I bought for the PC were Q4, Max Payne 2, Jedi Knight 2&3, GTA-SA, Half Life 2 and Football Manager 2007 whaich have gave me great times. Saying that some new games could run sweet on my setup now too.
But my 360 gives me all the gaming I need now. Thats the way things are going probably yeah?
btw im pissed, sorry for rambling on, nite nite.

The dogs fucking hairy bollocks back in the day. Got an old one lying around in my shop. Runs Half Life 2 like a dream... with good ram and CPU mind. But still a cracking card.

Athlon 2500 o/c'd to about 3200 speeds
768 MB RAM
256 MB 9800 PRO
~3.5 years, I think. It is showing its age.

About 3 years as well.

AMD 3000+
1GB DDR400
GF7600 256MB

had a GF5700 256MB, but swaped out vid cards a long time ago.

Seems like a load of 3 year old systems! :p

We all must have finally seen the release of some good hardware around then and nothing much since. Also not much released in the way of sofware/games that our 3 y/o systems can't handel so no reason to upgrade.
Uh, well....good luck with that.

About 2 months now...
AMD x2 6000
2GB RAM
Gainward 8800GTS w/ 640MB RAM
1x 200GB drive, 1x 500GB
Dell 2407WFP widescreen monitor
Vista Ultimate

Thinking about popping another 8800GTS in it for SLI, but after my last experience with SLI (2x 7900GTO), I'm not sure it's worth it. This single card runs things just as fast as my 2 old cards and throws DX10 into the mix as well.
An extra £250 for a suspect performance boost looks like a waste to me.

Don't have the inclination to upgrade, if I do it'll be some last-season components (don't game as often as I used to)

I have no idea, but i'll use this thread to voice my disdain about those pig fuckers at dell:

I got one of their Dell Dimensions fairly recently and it started BSOD'ing on me, with increasing regularity. As far as i could find out, it had something to do with the drivers of the graphics card being incompatible with Vista, or something ridiculous like that... but i may be wrong completely about that, no idea. This remains a very obscure sort of mystery to me. Installing the latest (and correct) drivers didn't help whatsoever. This was a huge annoyance, but not a tragedy. What came next, however, was.

Suddenly my hard drive starts making these 'whirrrr-clunk' noises and i get ocassional freeze ups. I found this very worrying. Then, this weekend i start that bastard up and the screen stays ominously black... nothing will work, not even a boot with the windows CDROM. It doesn't even make those hidious 'whirrr-clunk' sounds anymore. It tells me it's unable to boot up, and that it can't find it's harddrive, which doesn't help.

So i call Dell and explain what has happened and find out those heartless swine simply refuse to help me (or even tell me whether i'm only slighty fucked or proper fucked) without having me present at the computer, complying with their self-repair instructions and reading out labels printed on the side of my PC case. And their helpdesk opening times are workdays only, till five in the afternoon... so it looks like i'm going to have to take an afternoon off for this complete fucking bullshit.

Goddamnit.

2/3 years or so? Possibly longer.

AMD 64 3200+
1GB RAM
500GB HDD space in total (now full)
6600GT (I had an X800 Pro which was a fantastic card, but it blew)

I would very much like to update, but this PC has been like a rock for the time i've had it. It never, ever crashes but it will really struggle with the next batch of games (crysis, bioshock etc) so the next time i'm flush, its upgrade time.

Oh and my VAIO is my music making/midnight porn machine of choice:

Pentium M 750 1.86 GHz
1GB RAM
70GB HDD
ATI Mobility Radeon X600 w/256MB RAM

It is great for most games too.

Desktop is over 3 yrs.
AMD XP2500+
2Gb PC2700
6800GT

Laptop is about 2 yrs.
AMD XP2800+
512Mb some sort of RAM
Shit integrated ATI gfx chip

The laptop was solely for schoolwork (MATLAB and MS Office) and now it's mostly for music. The desktop sorely needs to be upgraded, looking at doing that shortly.

made my last computer stretch 4 years and counting with only one videocard change.

Northwood 2.4
1 Gig'o'ram
2x 80G WD Drives
started life with a Ti4600, upgraded 2 years ago to a 9800 pro

my server just died last week though. poor thing was from 1998.

had a K6 III+ 500 which ran overclocked to 550 for 10 years of faithful 24/7 operation as my desktop until 2003 (when i got the p4); then as my file server/inet gateway.

so i've moved the P4 over to my lady's desk and gutted her old compaq to pice together a new server.
its only a duron 700, which is probably actually not an upgrade from the k6.
that thing was a monster of a chip... R.I.P.

I'm hoping to get as much if not more longevity out of my new pc.

I think I've had this case for six years. Last major internal upgrade was like four years ago when I went up to an MSI Neo4 Platinum SLI with a 3500 Venice and a Gig of 2-2-2-5 Corsair XMS. Since then I've upgraded HDDs, DVD drives, video card, mouse, keyboard, monitor, speakers, and I tried to add a gig of ram but my mobo/cpu has an issue using all four slots.

Only thing I really need is another gig of ram.
