8800gts vs my old ati 800xt
My BD saturday so I may get myself a new vid card.
Will I see enough improvement to make it worth while.
My box is 3 years old but still good enough I think.
I got one of the first pci-e machines from dell (xps gen 3)
3.6 gighz
1 gig ram
I've read some reviews but still not sure if I should waste the doe.

Fuckin sweet. I'm sitting here reading the box, drooling. But, I'm scared. I just fucking reinstalled windows about 2 months ago, am I going to have to again? Is switching from ati to nvidia gonna make windows run home to momma???
I'm going to install it and just see what happens.
I run win xp home.

Both ATI and Nvidia have Driver removial tools on there site that is infact clean, and yea there are a Huge list of freeware removers as well..
And Spleeb, no, if you remove the ATI drivers, reboot, make sure they are gone, uninstall it again, turn off the computer, install the Nvidia then install the Drivers you SHOULD be fine..
Though if you are having issues with performance, it will eather be the Drivers themself's ( due to conflict none the less ) or the powersupply.

Re: 8800gts vs my old ati 800xt
it's not specifically about that particular graphic. ANY graphic on a card is retarded.
Re: 8800gts vs my old ati 800xt
it doesnt make any sense anyhow
although. the nerds buying those cards are usually the same nerds with the plexiglass cases and strobelights

I used drivercleaner as recommend by obsidian.
The 8800 is a 2 slot beast. I took a side by side pic, to bad
me and the camera suck, but the ati is like a little puppy compared.
Thanks for the help fellas.
