Within 5 years rep will be dead

Post by Cool Blue »

All things come to an end. So what genre do you think will take over pop culture when rap fades away?

PS. Don't argue about it, we all know rap is going downhill.

I doubt it'll be cheasy, it'll probably be an evolution of today's sounds. Just like rap today evolved from the 80's junk I didn't really like.

I honestly hope never mixes with anything. We don't want mini rep's around.

How is rap going downhill? 50 cent just went platinum in the first 3 days of massacre being released. It's one of the fastest selling albums ever.

Rap is a genre, not a trend. It will never die, but it will drop our of popular favor at some point.

As did disco, rock, funk, soul, bubblegum rock, folk, grunge, etc.

People have been saying rap is going to die for 20 years. Rap has out lived many genres of music.

Grand Master Flash owns you..

BTW, when 50 cent has 4 songs in Billboards top 10, you can't say Rap is going anywhere.

You fucking idiots. Rap has been around for 30 years. It's not going to go anywhere. White guys like yourself have been saying rap is dying in 5 years since the 70's.

Well if its dying then the question I put to you is:

Who killed it or is killing it?

I would have to say Vanilla Ice and the tune "Ninja rap" was definitely one of the stakes :)

Whether you like it or not, Vanilla Ice bridged the racial gap of fans in the rap industry.

You guys skimming posts? I do believe I clarified the use of 'death of rap' as a phrase. It was not to say rap would go away like a trend, it was to reference the point in which rap music stops to dominate the 'pop' charts.

Besides... arguing semantics suck balls. You all know what I meant, so let's debate something benefit.
