printer/fax/copier/scanner recommendations?
I'm looking for something that's good quality and isn't a pig with ink. Thanks for any help.

Depends on the type of printing you will be doing...
Laser hands down if you're talking about volume printing, though colour all-in-one will set you back a bit - plus they aren't ideal for photos unless you get something professional ($$$).
Pretty much all ink jets will be pigs on ink. HP and Canon do some good photo quality prints.
Do you really need fax? I've found that fax capability usually sets you back $50-100, so unless you actually need to do faxes... just email.
If you're like me and print 99% in black and white with the occasional colour, just get a black and white laser with the optional scanner (or a separate scanner if you're doing high quality photo scanning) and then a separate cheap colour inkjet for occasional use. Do photos at the lab unless you expect to do a lot of custom tweaking and custom page sizes.
