Here's a picture of the shutter mechanism.

Re: PHOTOS PLEASE
Here's three shots, all images to 60 x 40" all at 180dpi
first is from GF

Second is PS bi-smooth

third from max size from RAW then topped up with bi-smooth

IMO, GF does the best job.

Re: PHOTOS PLEASE
There sure is a lot of noise in the sky on the first. Is the GF example doing sharpening? I suppose the real proof will come from the prints.
Re: PHOTOS PLEASE
no USM done at all. overall the GF is best. look at the legs in the other pictures.
i'm off to dubai soon so i'll be testing this out.

Re: PHOTOS PLEASE
I don't mean USM, I mean the sharpening done in GF since it has three settings you can control, size, sharpening and one other function I can't remember atm. I just wondered if it was on.
Re: PHOTOS PLEASE
no mate, no sharpening at all
Re: PHOTOS PLEASE
k... just wondering. I noticed that the GF sharpening thing does some really weird things. I thought the larger amount of noise in the sky compared to one of PS bicubic smooth tries might have been from that.Doombrain wrote:no mate, no sharpening at all
Re: PHOTOS PLEASE

We've got this huge concrete monster with wheel chair ramp that must be 40 meters long and 20 meters high to cross the highway. That thing there made me think of it because it looks even bigger than the one we have, plus it has an elevator.
Re: PHOTOS PLEASE
it's an elevator. it's in brussels. i rode on it last year for the sake of tourism. utterly pointless contraption for fat belgians who can't be arsed to walk up/down some stepsDave wrote:What the hell is that thing? Testing my new lens, a wide angle zoom: Tokina 12-24mm. I have to get used to the extreme angle and perspective. Could have wait for some better light too
