could be, was just a tourist. we were staying in some b&b in balboa, went for a little drive, and the next thing I knew, we were in a Judas Priest video from 1983

The zoo is overrated. Yes, you pretty much have to go, but don't expect too much, and you won't be let down.

I always enjoy the harbour tour. IF I remember there's 2 lenghts. 1.5 and 2.5 hours. Very relaxing.

We're already talking about either going to the zoo, or to the wildlife park.

What else is fun to do out there? I've never seen the Pacific, so I'm definitely going out to the beach one day...

Anybody a native, or ever spent much time there?
i'll be there to kick ur ass...name a place...

Thanks for all the tips everybody, much appreciated.

So I'm flying out Thursday night. I'll be there all day Friday while the gf's at work. I might spend part of the time scouting around to see what we're going to do the rest of the weekend. I might also go take that Taylor tour. Anything else cool I might want to check out while I'm by myself, during the day?

Either Friday night or Sat night we'll be going out with her boss and his wife. That leaves us 2 days and 2 nights, and part of Monday (I'm flying out around 2pm) to cram in what we can.

Here's the list I'm working from...

The Fish Market
Old Town - poss. Seville?
Balboa Park - Zoo and Natural History Museum
Belmont Park - beach & rollercoaster
Mission Beach Boardwalk - not sure about this one, but it seems to be a super popular beach from what I've seen?
Gaslamp Quarters - The Strip Club
Petco Park/Downtown
Legoland
Tokyo Sushi Loha (for the gf, and only if we decide against the fish market)
Harbor Tour - not sure about this one, i'm not very big on touristy trips

Obviously that's probably more than we can do in a couple days, so we'll have to pick and choose.

I'm also looking for a romantic spot one night... something fairly private would be a nice bonus. Are any of the beaches or parks like that, or can you expect to be surrounded by people at all hours?

LOL!

Funny thing is, I read something about the Whaley House while I was looking around online, and I thought about you Case.

You ever take your gear in there and check it out? :ninja:

'Not sure' meaning I've never seen it and know nothing about it, so I'm not sure what to expect. ;)

strip club is fun, but honestly it's a little overrated (and overpriced) for a martini bar where you grill your own steak

I was wondering that. I'm not huge on the idea of paying a lot for my food and then having to cook it myself.

Her boss really wants to go though, so we may not have much choice....

Have a nice trip, Rook. Don't take bomb-making equipment such as shampoo or water with you.

It looks like it stays jam-packed from sunup to sundown. I prefer beaches where I have a little room to lay my shit down, but I can dig the social setting.

You can have alcohol on that beach, right?
