Which Quake do you prefer?

I'm just curious. I still play Q2 and Q3 single player all the time but I NEVER fire up Q4.

Yeah I've played Q4 a few times but I won't buy it. There's more intracasies in Q3A that are required to be a good player as opposed to most other shooters out there.

q3. my internet connection has been fucked for well over a year now making it hard to play just about any game online. q3 with bots is about as close as i can therefore get to playing online :smirk:

i would've said q2 over q3 but it's so fucking orange and the weapons are way too powerful with low ping... makes 1v1 boring, either complete spawnrape or yawnfests where both hide and spam at doors.

Agreed, though the current flavour of late has been Quake Wars (which I guess isn't on the list since it isn't exactly out yet).

You'll never see the edge played competitively in any game but q2. I think It might be played in q4 tdm, but it's reworked quite a bit. q2 is flat out unbalanced, and not in a fun way like q1. I'm not saying that the map wasn't fun, or that the game wasn't the shit back in the day.

Ummmm QuakeWorld, out of the vanilla games listed, with Quake III a close second.

And I guess CPMA > all.

I spent hours upon hours with Quake 1 back in my Pentium 2 days. I only played Q4 long enough to complete the single player and uninstalled it. Although I enjoy a game of Q3 here and there, my vote goes to the first game for kicking off the series :up:
