I tune out both ways.

Not sure it's safe, but it works for me.

The money makes it worth it. Which has be worried, because I'm prolly looking at a pay cut soon which could bring the house of cards down, so to speak.

I heard that 45 minutes is the average transit time one way for most of the US

I used to drive for an hour when I worked for this small software company 3 years ago...it was worth it IMO.

You heard incorrectly.

For the nation as a whole, the average daily commute to work lasted about 24.3 minutes in 2003.

Which made me think of one of my old idea. I had this weird idea when I was taking the bus to go to school. Since we were all healthy children and we all could ride a bicycle...
I would convert a bus into a multiple traction aids which 40 people could be cycling it for the traction/power of the bus. The only thing is that the first one and last one would have to be the strongest ones to move it. :sly: Well not really. It could use a electric motor for supplement that would be generated power from the power of the 40 people.
Of course, it would be made out of fiberglass or alu, not as the ones we have.
Understand what I mean?

But may be we would have more healthy and less obese children. And they would be awake once at school. + Much less pollution. That doesn’t count?

I drive an hour into the city ( I live in the CUNTry) to the office in the morn...then between 20 min to hour or 2 to a shoot.

I don't know where you are from but unless it is a typo error I would say add a 0 to it at the least.

The place I'm moving into soon:
To uni, about 25-30 minutes by car.
To work, if I really wanted to rally in the middle of the night and you count driving time only, I guess I could do it in under a half a minute :P
(200-300m, a left turn and 100m)

Thanks for sharing. I've read the article.
The thing is ...average people, not the worst I guess. Because here, just crossing the bridge from Longueuil to Montreal and vice versa in the afternoon/after work, is almost always 1/2hr in the rush every day. And this is not a long bridge.
More to come.
