Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the original Halo, but no more than any other bog-standard FPS out there.
And when compared to PC FPS titles, it's really nothing special at all.

By the way DB, if you liked the concept and thought it would make a great book, I believe Halo borrowed heavily from Larry Niven's "Ringworld" books.

What’s with the love or hate and halo? I don’t think its ground breaking at all. The reason I like that game is because of the Forbidden Planet look and feel and I loved the idea of the halo itself. Would have made a great book.

For the record, I thought H2 was a bit poor in game play and story.

I'm with you on that. point, shoot and move on is the game play.

I'm sorry, but Halo 2 is STILL the number one played online game on any console, ever.

If you dont think an improved game, with more features, screenshot and demo functions etc etc is going to take over, you really are living in a dream world.

I love my 360 and everything but this list has me a bit puzzled:

No it wasent, the books came around the same time as the first halo, and halo was first ment to be a RTS game like the upcominh Halo wars..
