Linksys router and DD-WRT.
Is it possible to remove DD-WRT from the router and go back to linksys firmware?

It just seems like sometimes I'll get disconnected, even though it's a wired connection. My 360 doesn't connect right away. The net connection seems sluggish at times.
I'm using my old 8 port router and it works great. Even the 360 connects to live with no problem.

Well I hve DD-WRT on a Linksys WRT54GL, all I had to do to get Xbox Live working happily was to do port triggering on two ports. If it isn't working for you then don't count out some other issues; bad cables, overheated router, memory of the router being filled up with IP addresses by using torrents, etc. If it worked well with the Linksys firmware and does not with the DD-WRT, then go back I guess.

As I recall, it's possible on some routers. On others it's not, at least not at this time.

I may take a look at that. Don't care for keeping my password, since it's already been reset.prince1000 wrote:i use tomato

I do believe it use to work with DD-WRT firmware until I updated to the latest firmware.Kills On Site wrote:Well I hve DD-WRT on a Linksys WRT54GL, all I had to do to get Xbox Live working happily was to do port triggering on two ports. I believe this firmware won't allow you to go back to a previous one.

It seems like it only has .3 to .6 MB free of memory.

Well I got the ol;d linksys firmware back on. In the meantime I was using the old 8 port router. Now I remember why I bought a new one. Playing on xbox live last night I must have gotten disconnected 5-10 times.

Re: Linksys router and DD-WRT.
I put the old linksys firware back and and hooked up the 360 and it still dosen't connect right away. So I might have to compare settings in both of them to see if I spot a problem.
