Standby
I used to be able to put my computer into standby mode, but after a reinstall (I did change from WinXP Pro to MCE2005) it will go into standby but all the fans will still be running. I haven't touched my BIOS or changed any hardware. Any way of fixing this?

Sounds like it's only dropping to S1 power standby and not S3 power standby.
First off check the BIOS anyway (I did read what you said but look regardless) and see if it has any settings for S3 power mode.
Second, check devices in hardware manager and remove any entries for 'allow this device to bring computer out of standby'.
Third and I'm guessing becuase I'm not an MCE user on this... since MCE is by nature a file sharing station it could be avoiding S3 sleep by default because it fulfils a server-like role and hence should not be slipping into a 'full' sleep mode at any time due to a need for it to be available on your network 100%.... quite how you would get over this I'm not sure, possibly by disabling its media streaming abilities?
