real reason: fucking "it department" was migrating everyone from popmail to exchange (only took them 7 years), and the idiots botched up my machine. instead of acknowledging their own incompetence - this isnt the first machine they botched - they decided it was all my fault. seeing as im one of the few people with administrator rights, and for very good reasons, i must have done something to fuck it all up. so, they took away my machine (major olo there), deemed it "a security risk" and decided to format my hdd and take away my admin rights. seems like their views on security are similar to the DHSs, rofl.

anyways, i was able to salvage some shit but i cant install anything anymore (e.g. msn). im bypassing this with trillian at the moment... but trillianbasic doesnt have an irc client (i was on Pro before).

so yea.
i'll have to migrate my home trillian onto my workpc now. doesnt take a lot of time but all my prefs for all my other apps are gone so that has some priority as you can imagine
