Ok I have some parts here that I have come up with to upgrade my Work comptuer.
Now all I run is Acad and Solid works. I can get by with my Geforce 3 just the way it is, but I really want a better video card. ATM I have 1 GF3 and GF2 installed with two monitors, both monitors display different things like Monitor #1 will display my drawings and Display #2 will display my email program (outlook). If I buy a video card that will support two monitors then can I get the same results? (not to extend the same program over two monitors)
Here is what I came up with, please let me know what you think and if this is a good way to go. Please feel free to change anything on the list and I will prolly go with your suggestions.
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Kentsfield 2.4GHz 2 x 4MB L2 Cache LGA 775 Processor
GIGABYTE GA-P35C-DS3R LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX Intel Motherboard
CORSAIR XMS2 DOMINATOR 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory
EVGA 256-P2-N761-AR GeForce 8600GTS 256MB 128-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card
Thanks in advance.

Re: Upgrading work computer
Yeah that'll do fine.
May as well go for 4Gb though since memory is cheap as hell.

Re: Upgrading work computer
Keep in mind that you can't fully utilized 4GB of RAM on a 32-bit OS. You have a total of 4GB worth of memory addresses, roughly about 500MB worth is usually allocated to other devices.
Re: Upgrading work computer
Ok I will use 3 gigs of ram.
What about the Video card question?
Can I run one video card with dual monitor support and get the monitors to display different things or do I have to find a motherboard that supports two video cards? Anyone here have one video card with dual monitor support and get the monitors to display different applications? Like I said before the way my computer is set up now I have two monitors and the primary monitor displays my drawings (acad) and the second displays outlook and ie.

Re: Upgrading work computer
The nvidia drivers support several modes of multi-display on a single card, including the mode you seek.
