vista help?

so i just started a new job that requires me to use vista. this is my first time using it and i'm current confused about a couple things...

i seem to have somehow deleted the trashcan icon from my desktop and have no idea how to get it back. how do i get it back?
where's the add/remove hardware thing under the control panel? is it called something else now or is it gone?

and slightly off topic...anyone know of good video capturing software? i'm looking for something that will capture footage of applications. the only two i've found are Fraps and Camtasia. Fraps always manages to look like crap and Camtasia costs a pretty penny. is there anything else out there that works that is either free or inexpensive?

alright did some futzing around and figured out the trashcan icon thing.

r-click desktop > personalize > change desktop icons (left bar) > check the boxes for the icons you want.

also found the uninstall programs thing. just changed the view from classic to playskool and saw it sittin there.
