Logitech MX Revolution - Possible to change speed?

Post by Bacon »

Speed, or DPI, or whatever makes it run slower, like is there a way to make it run the same DPI as an MX510? Or am I shit outta luck?

Thanks

SOL.

If you wanted a 1600 dpi mouse you should have bought a 1600dpi mouse.

Although technically logitech doesn't seem to want to tell me what res the MX Rev is, so I can't confirm it isn't 1600.

The MX is 800 DPI, and is like 10x faster in quake than my old one, so more DPI = slower? Oh well, kind of a downer though, I cant find another MX510 ANYWHERE.

I don't understand your logic. Who said slower anywhere?

You, trying to get 1600dpi out of a 800dpi mouse.
Me, telling you impossible!

more dpi = "faster". All sensitivity settings being equal, move an 800dpi mouse 1 inch, it moves the cursor X distance. Move a 1600 dpi mouse 1 inch, the cursor moves X*2 distance.

So the MX510 is 1600 dpi? According to what you posted that would mean it moves on the screen faster, but it moves slower for me, in either case, you answered me.. I'll keep hunting for a 510 :P

The 510 has 3 settings, 1600, 800, and 400 dpi. The setting is changed with the 2 buttons above and below the wheel.

Just get an MX518, essentially the same thing jsut lighter and with a new optic engine. I love both my MX510 and MX518. Also, have you tried adjusting your sensitivity in game or via the control panel?

My mouse when you push the 2 buttons above the scrollwheel didn't adjust the dpi - - it scrolled down. And It's an MX510 according to logitech's software,

Anyways yes I have, but I can't get it to how it was, it just feels too fast, I managed to fix the 510 for now but I couldn't get settings to work - - unless I multiply all of my sensitivities and mouseaccels by the dpi difference, but that wont work either.

I'll pick up a 518, and try it out, I already returned the revolution :P

Thanks for the help guys.

well the MX518 is lighter so it feels faster, but you can definately adjust it, and after a day or so you will be very used to it, it is so much like the MX510.
