New mouse
New mouse
Got this cordless Logitech keyboard-mouse combo with my new system.
The mouse is tiny/light, is an optical and doesn't have a thumb button, so I want to get another one.
New mice are so fucking overengineered with a sliding scroll button thing, 5 thumb buttons where you have to bend your thumb at weird angles to click them, and all kinds of shit I have no use for.
I'm looking at the Logitech G5 Laser, but as far as I can tell from the pic, the thumb button is awkwardly high placed for some reason.
I just need a heavyish laser mouse with 1 thumb button where your thumb is naturally attached to your hand, preferably cordless.
Anyone know of such a mouse?

Re: New mouse
I use the Logitech MX Revolution

I like it. It's light and the thumb buttons seem to be in righr position.

Re: New mouse
MX here too, it's one of those that once you use it, you're hooked...
it's fairly light for a wireless , very comfortable( atleast for my hands but the shape seems to be well thought out)
and the tracking seems to have come a long way since my logi 700, it will work on any surface that I have tried it on, even on the bed sheets lol?

Re: New mouse
I use the Razor Death Adder

It uses a 1800dpi infra red sensor. 1000 Hz Ultrapolling USB 2.0 rate at 1ms Response time.
It's simply unstoppable during online FPS matches. Perfect for sniper roles.
I couldn't imagine using laser mice, specially wireless laser mice.
They feel like they "drag" you can physically feel the lag.
They don't have a constant, and clean motion feel to them.
It's like they have mood swings, and depending on the mood,
they have a different response every time you swing the mouse.
Next time you see someone fagging real good online, think about the mouse they are using.

Re: New mouse

Re: New mouse
Rollerballs, optical and even laser mice are now old school, infra red optical sensor are it.
Re: New mouse
it's love or hate for some people, but I like the logitech G5 a lot
Re: New mouse
wtf does that mean?...Turbine wrote:Rollerballs, optical and even laser mice are now old school, infra red optical sensor are it.
Re: New mouse
It looks like it doesn't in that picture, but does it have raised knobs on the thumb buttons? Cause I ordered a Razor before then found out it did, I sent it back.Turbine wrote:I use the Razor Death Adder

Also, the logo on the top, is that just printed or is it contoured or something? (It would be uncomfortable for me if it wasn't just printed, flush.)

though, because razer makes it, you can expect it to light up in various places to ensure maximum distraction factor.

Re: DTS
The logo on the back is flush, it's nice and clean, on the top that your hand comes in to contact with. It is not printed, but a transparent layer of plastic.

I don't understand what you mean by the thumb buttons, but this might explain it, it's a close up.

Re: New mouse
Actually, that DeathAdder looks pretty close to what I had in mind.
Bit lighweight, maybe?
Guess Razer doesn't make cordless mice, because that wouldn't be übergamer, but I can live with that.
About EUR 50, so that's reasonable.
Thanks, guy.

Re: New mouse

I know it's old but it's fantastic... obviously wired...
Be sure your sin will find you out...
Re: New mouse
I've been using an MX518 for years now - great mouse IMO. Feels great in your hands, DPI can be easily changed, and holds up great.
I had a Razor Diamondback when they were still pretty new - broke it within the first month, somehow. Never bought from them again.

decent weight laser mouse. I have the wired version. I'm not sure though if that silver on the side is a thumb button or not, mine doesn't have that. The wireless is $40, the wired is only $30, and Kensington always gives you 5 year warranties on all their products which means it'll probably save you a lot of money in the long run.

Horrid piece of shit.
I bought one one at random. It skipped to fucking hell and back.
Re: New mouse
MX 510/518 are simply awesome all round mice.
Re: New mouse
Yep, exactly what I use. I love it. Used the MS explorer V3.0 before but the 510 is superior. Though I'd be interested to see if the extra dpi in the 518 really makes much difference in terms of fragging.vileliquid1026 wrote:
