I have the basic issue of trying to set up wireless internet with these two devices:
Westell Wirespeed Dual Connect (model a90 - 210030 - 04)
NetGear RangeMax WPN824
Currently, the Westell modem is set up to connect using PPPoE, and everything works fine. Its ip address is 192.168.1.2. If I hook the router up, all of the lights work properly, but I get no internet. I can access the router's homepage but not the modem's. What other information would be useful to help me properly configure this thing?

When you dial the modem, it gives you the IP of 192.168.1.2?
And when you connect the router it gives you the IP of?
it sounds alot like the Wirespeed has a router built into it..

Re: Westell Modem, NetGear Router
yea, it does..
the issues lies in the following:
Internet ---- Modem/Router ----- router ---- You
so that in itsself is well.. fine..
But They are both trying to use the 192.168.1.X Ip range, so when you request http://www.google.ca it dosnt know who the hell to talk to.
Call up Bell south and Talk to there tech's and see if there is a "bridged" mode that the modem can run in so you dont get the Router/Nat part of it,
then setup your Net(gay)gear to dial the PPoE and You will be up and running!

Re: Westell Modem, NetGear Router
I changed the modem to use bridged ethernet mode, and then set the netgear to dial pppoe, but when i visited http://www.google.com/webhp it said it couldn't find /webhp/ on the server or something like that.

Re: Westell Modem, NetGear Router
btw, make sure that the router actually dials the PPoE and gets a IPAddy for the WAN..
Re: Westell Modem, NetGear Router
It doesn't work with any URL
I'll check on that right quick.

Re: Westell Modem, NetGear Router
Heh, sorry about that...
As usual, I was just doing something dumb... wrong password. I just set the modem to bridged ethernet mode and had the router dial PPPoE with the correct settings and everything is dandy.
Thanks for the help amidy
