I kinda got that impression from the commercials.
That is pretty bad for this type of movie.

pauly has friends in the industry i think.

and it does look shit from the adverts, i don't get the combination of modern hi-res tech with the style of early playstation fmv.

It was out on Thursday in the UK.

It looks amazing, but there's just no real story or character development there. It's only the fact that it's CGI and looks so good that it keeps you remotely interested.

Sounds like you watched Casino first, big mistake as it is indeed almost a rehash of Goodfellas. Goodfellas is one of my favorite movies, but I was disappointed by Casino.

Chuck and Larry - 4/10 Sandler doesn't seem to do well when he tries to mix comedy and drama, he needs to do one or the other.

Knocked Up - 6/10 The scene with the female gynocologist had me laughing so hard I couldn't breathe. Like Superbad, a much better film than I expected.

I thought you'd dig it. I need to see both No Country For Old Men and Eastern Promises.

Just been through about half of season 3 of Battlestar Galactica. Fucking quality.

Darker, grittier and more emotional than both previous seasons. Definitely the best TV show right now.

Does anyone besides me really want to see I am Legend... starring Will Smith?

It intrigues me, but it takes a lot to get me to the movies.

That is key. Goodfellas is the better movie. I saw it first. Once you have seen it, Casino was like a continuation of the same kind of characters. I liked Casino, but I think I really liked it from getting that great Goodfellas vibe!

I'm looking forward to "I am Legend" - "Last Man on Earth" is my favorite B movie.

American Gangster

I thought it was really good. Very well done with solid acting (as you would expect).

LotR extended cut (all 3 movies) - 11/10 - i'd have given it a 12 but for the atrocious dwarf-tossing jokes and the use of modern lingo like 'nervous system' and 'life-force'. in general the comedy in the movies is rubbish

Pulled out Enter the Dragon for the umpteenth time...

Bruce Lee was the man! I still haven't seen anyone stage a fight scene I like better than him against the guards in the dungeon/drug factory... yes, it's pure ownage against total buffoons, but Bruce did a great job considering what he had to work with.

Agreed, the only good comedy is the one that Tolkien wrote himself, like the exchange between Sam and Gollum about conies and taters in Ithilien. Those dwarf tossing jokes shouldn't have been in there.
