That's not a bad analogy - except when you don't make it to the elite team or the semi elite team of researchers, it still matters because, shit, it's harvard. But when you don't make the first or second team in football, you might as well not play. Unless your ambition is to be sold to Farmers United for two cows and a rake.
yeah, but there are still plenty of good teams out there that you can play for, and plenty of money as well (to make a living). you might not make it onto arsenal, but there are other teams.

as far as might as might as well not play, if you're doing it just to make the top team, you're not going to make it anyway. but i dont know, as none of us have obviously never reached that level.

This doesn't have much to do with any of this stuff, but these are some nice penalty kicks: England v. Germany--Euro96

I'd love to see mourinho in the job. But it's unlikely he'll take it unless , and I quote from a sports pundit on the radio "he's offered huge amounts of money" . Mourinho is apparently still more interested in club management than national team coaching.

Frankly, I doubt england would get much past quarter or semi finals whoever the manager is. And we've reached those stages a few times before anyway. I reckon there's more to it than just management. Klinsman really wants the job. That would be interesting, having a german on the england team.

And McCrapen walking away with £2.5 million for being such a massive failure is simply a fucking joke. Of course he didn't resign because then he wouldn't have got his payout. Biggest chancer in football. Is he crying for failing at qualifying? Yes.. yes he is, all the way to the bank.

Yeah, klinsmann would do well for england but he'd have them goose-stepping out of the tunnel.
