I have a feeling that I might have misstyped the title of this here post, but... oh well, here we go:

nothing makes a person more humble than changing career paths, especially when the prior job was so easy it was depressing, and the new job is so breathlessly open-ended and teetering on the vast dark edge of needless complexity it generates shit in ones pants. Also, and wonder. Wonder when the door will hit me on the way out.

ok, that said, I've got a need for your help guys, the grey matter in here's pretty charged at times so I reckon that lit together is better than one shabby christmas lightbulb alone.

(almost successful) tests have been so far with webalizer, awstats and now analog.
have 24 logfiles generated for 4 different environments of which can be seperated by virtualhost, directory or filename. Full root access gives us the flexibility we need--cron, logmerge tools, etc etc at our disposal.

Limitations: disk space, log files (hourly) can be upwards of 100 m, so stdout is best for logmerge, and that said I am nervous about our usage of awstats rickety nslookupmerge or whatever the hell that awstats tool is. Anyone done this? If no, I'll post more detail later....
