The Simpson Map - out now

Post by Maggu »

Hello Quakers out there!

I proudly present you my final Simpsons Map for Quake III Arena.
It's a small allround map, with all gametypes supported.

get it from my myspacesite:

See some screenshots:

I started this map project a long time ago for quake III, then i released springfield_pb for enemy territory, which wasn't very playable. Then i gave up this project. But i thoughed, this is unfinished business, so i went back to my Quake roots, and here it is...
This version should be more playable...please read the readme for some important information.

So that's it, hope you like it. Maybe i'll find some time to port this map for some other games like quake IV for example.
We'll see.

I wish you a lot of fun with this.

Whoa... I remember you working on this a really long time ago.

Lighting looks quite realistic actually, which contrasts against the cartoon style textures giving it a really surreal look.

CTF flags show up in free-for-all mode, BTW. The scale of everything is a bit larger than it should be.

I'm amazed by the amount of details put into this. Right down to the knicknacks sitting on shelves and such.

Gameplay wise, it's not an ideal Q3 map. But visually, it's quite an accomplishment.

Looking at the size of that map you should try and see if maybe you can port it to tremulous :p.

That's exactly what I thought when I tried to find it. It's a huge yellow link though - easy to see once you found it. It's >here<.

Actually, nothing's the way it has to be--thus these cool things called options.
Here's a free .rar extraction program. Merry Christmas. :)
