Core 2 Duo, or Quad?

Well I ordered the rig, went with the Core 2 Quad. Here is another question, this rig is going to have multiple users, is it better to create all the users at the begining or get it all set up and all the programs configured the way I want and then create new accounts?

Do this:

1. Create your own personal account in addition to the administrator account.
2. Set this second account up with all the desktop, folder, view settings that you want all the accounts to have. Screensaver and background and power settings and all that business.
3. Log back on as 'Administrator'. Right-click my computer properties Advanced Profiles/User accounts
4. Select the second account you just configured, and click 'copy to'. In the destination enter c:\documents and settings\Default User\
5. Set permissions to 'everyone'.

Now, whenever a new account logs in, they'll get all the per-user settings you configured on your account.

Note: Don't ever do this with the 'Administrator' account. It are speshul.

What about startup programs and other things like that. I have some things that even when I disable them on my account they are still present on the others, which I don't like. Fortunately the new computer is much faster and I am so glad to rid myself of that old P4. So if I create just my account and copy it will they still have some personalized things such as the documents, which I want to change the default location on, I think I know how to do that.

Well Foo I tried your method, but it wouldn't let me copy the settings to anything, the button was completely greyed out.

You cannot be logged in as the user you are trying to copy when you copy the profile. You need to log in as the main 'administrator' account then copy the profile you just set up.

Also, I wasn't joking about not copying the primary 'administrator' account to default user. Don't attempt that.

I was logged on as admin and tried to copy my personal one, wouldn't let me. Moot point now, I created the profiles and went in and tweaked them individually, but there was some benefit to creating the accounts after I finished mine, some pesky things weren't even there.

On thing about overlocking, it's not easy to do at all. Allot of people always confidentely argument that any C2D or Quad can be overclocked easily. Which is not the truth at all. True they are robust and they can be overlocked up to 1gh more than their stock speed, but having a stable system afterwards now that's something else.

There are so many factors you have to take in account if you start overclicking like FB voltage, NB voltage, CPU voltage, cpu/RAM ratio and RAM timings. If you know nothing about this, I suggest you read up about them as much as you can before you decide to start overclocking.

Like mentioned before an overclocked system can perform slower than a stock system. Probably because many settings haven't been taken in account when oc'ing.

I could overclock my E6750 2.6 easily to 3.6 and it did booted much faster, but it was kinda unstable. Know I'm running it at a confortable 3.2ghz and everthing seams to running more smoothely.
