My old motherboard died. It had an onboard HighPoint RAID controller.
I just built a new system but it does not have onboard RAID. Is there a way, using a software controller to access my existing array without harming the data?
edit: This is on an XP box.

Re: Recovering a RAID array
was your raid setup as a Raid 0 or a raid 1?
Striping Vs mirroring.

No, there is no software solution to read a harware raid array.
To further complicate things, it is highly unlikely that you'll be able to read it with another raid controller unless it is also a HighPoint.

Re: Recovering a RAID array
It's RAID-0
After much Googling I've come to the same conclusion.
However, I found some software, R-Studio (http://www.r-studio.com).
This should allow me to copy my files off the array to another drive. Then I can go about setting up the array again or whatever I decide to do with those drives.
R-Studio lets you make a virtual RAID array, then you can scan that for lost files which can then be read. The demo worked fine so I'm hoping it will sort out my problem.
Thanks for the assist.
