HELP!! Gtk radiant 1.5.0 not working

Post by MANPREETk »

Hi
I am a noob mapper in q3(started doing this in jan 2008)

I was using q3radiant(v202) until i read a post here, which said gtkradiant is preferred nowadays over q3 radiant.

So i downloaded gtkradiant 1.5.0 from qeradiant.com.
AFter installing when i run it ,got the following errors:

.\mainframe.cpp:610
assertion failure: module system failed to initialise-see radiant.log for error messages
-----------------------
Stacktrace is disabled in release builds
-----------------------
Please report this error to the developers

AFTER CLICKING ON OK,I GET ANOTHER MESSAGE:

.\commands.cpp:88
assertion failure:failed to lookup command "patchInspector"
--------------------
Stacktrace is disabled in release-builds
--------------------
Please report this error to the developers
******************************************************
Can anyone plz help me out!!!

Heho!
It's been a while since this thread was discussed but I need to roll up the whole topic again due to a dead link at http://www.splashdamage.com/forums/view ... hp?t=16919 and there's nothing to be found over google, so can someone PLEASE help me out since I got the same problem like MANPREETk a few months ago. EXACTLY the same! And I tested gtk on several computers which all turned out to work fine ... exact the one I use for mapping so I'm starting to get *a bit* pissed off, not only because the forums dealing with this problem are either linking to the same non-existing file or aren't having a solution at all.
So everyone still having that file or at least telling me where to download it would do me a GREAT favor, thanks!

SplashDamage upgraded their forums and things got shuffled around a bit but they are all still there. Just go to SplashDamage Forums and type in "assertion failure" in the search field and the page pops right up. I know you're new here, but please do try a little harder.

Here's the direct link:

<3 Nothing more to say... gonna try it today; and after all it wasn't too bad to update a dead link, was it? :disgust: Yeah I know...

So I finally managed to get the edoitor started, but still there are a few things left in the dark for me. Maybe I just start a new thread due to the new topics I'll refer to. So here's one final THANKS! and I'm out.

PS: If you should ever encounter that mainframe.cpp:610 and so on fucking error, just download the 80.mcr programm linked in exactly that thread mentioned above and install it (got something around 6 MB). Then the 1.50 GTK radiant works guaranteed!
