k how can I find out who is leeching my wireless connection?

Post by Tsakali_ »

I need to get rid of someone who I suspect is trying to use my connection. I am fucking pissed off, when I see serious slowdowns and get this: I get a douplicate ip warning on my network :dork:

I want to physically hurt them, but for starters how can I pinpoint what the fuck is going on with my LAN/WAN?

any nifty easy to use programs out there?

Ummm... why don't you just set up some encryption on your router?

If there's one thing I hate, it is an unlocked foot locker. If it weren't for people like you, there wouldn't be any theivery in this world, now would there?!

yeah, don't bother trying to get a mac address, it will accomplish nothing. lock it up and be done with it.

some of the choice aftermarket mods to a router will give you distance and direction to your router..

Re-set your router to factory defaults without the modem connected,
change the admin password, SSID and enable WPA/WPA2-PSK

then connect to it via Wireless/etc to make sure it works, then connect your modem to get the internet back up and running

then you wont need to be worried about this kinda junk.

Depending of your router, you might be able to see all the connections that are connected to your router. My D-link has that feature.

Other then that, lock it up, and your problems will be gone.
