no wich directory is the game in. like C:\Program Files\Quake III Arena\

oh sry...yeah it goes on C:\Program Files\Quake III Arena\ then i drag it onto my desktop (im talking about the game not the patch)

Make sure the game itself is installed to a folder called 'quake 3 arena', say, in your program files as said above, and install the 1.32 patch to that same folder when it asks you for a destination directory to install it to, just to be sure. Perhaps just uninstall everything including the 1.32 patch and start again if you need to.

you shouldnt drag it onto your desktop... what exactley do you drag onto your desktop? quake3.exe or the whole Quake III Arena folder?

Just create a shortcut to quake 3 by right clicking, dragging somewhere in the folder, release the mouse button and selecting 'create shortcut here'. Then move it to the desktop.

Another way to create a shortcut after it's installed, is to right click on the 'play quake 3 arena' in your start menu/send to/ Desktop(create shortcut ). At least, that's true for windows XP.

I hear from bikkeldesnikkel that when medalist installed the game , it defaulted to a folder called 'quake "3" arena', but the 1.32 patch defaulted to a different folder called 'quake "lll" arena' . So, neither the game nor the patch were connecting with each other. :icon28:
