OK all I have a job interview coming up on Wednesday. Think of me and send you good karma and thoughts my way please. I think it helps
Now I've mostly been a government or semi government employee here in Oz, shit it has been near 30 years The new job is for a small office supply company.
I reckon it sounded OK and applied for it online the other day, not believing I'd get that call. Well they did call and ask I attend an interview Wednesday @ 1300.
From what I see in the advertisement it involves the delivery and then installation of office equipment. I ask how hard can that be?
Money (wages/salary) is not an issue with me ATM as I need a change from the corporate office and all the associated bullshit that goes with would be managers fighting to keep their jobs while pissing on the workers.
I also think I can sell myself (@ interview) but am concerned a little as my last manager said I was too confident
Shit I've died three times and nothing scares me... I find no challenge unsurmountable. Build a bridge and get over it I say.
Too confident for him perhaps. I've found lower management don't like staff who are confident and well, fearless.
Question: Do you find it like that out there in the world at large?
LOL at sitting at home, then 50 years later remenecing on your life and remembering doing fuck all.
Granted you must be thinking of ordinary Joe Blow office jobs where you sit in your cubicle and slowly turn in to the stinkiest Vieux Boulogne cheese imaginable. However, people have much more interesting "jobs" than that, if you could even call them jobs, more like lifestyles. I for one couldn't imagine not deep see diving. With jobs like that you create amazing memories to last you a lifetime, and compared to sitting at home like a 50's housewife... well, figure it out yourself.
but a question:
Do you think delivering/installing equipment is a good idea with the condition of your heart?
In answer, yes. I need the physical activity.
Sitting behind a desk for years was literally killing me. Although not overweight I need to move, get in and out of cars etc.
I do believe these days couriers deliver the equipment anyway and health and safety should make any dramatic lifting out of the question.
I am actually a lot better now phycically than 5 months ago and at least I know. Some people out there are walking (running) around with near 100% artery blockages just waiting and unknowingly of course to drop...
I'll apply any and all merit I may have aquired this week to you in this matter. Namaste.

Thanks all for the karma and positive thoughts. It worked a treat
Great interview, all going splendidly. It did seem they knew their business inside and out (that's nice in todays world) and both parties asked the right questions and got the correct answers.
A very positive interview indeed IMO.
I reckon I could do the job standing on my head but sadly, unless I want to take a 50% pay cut, I don't think I'll accept if offered.
So the question I pose is this: Would you leave a relatively easy but pressured work environment for something on easy street and reduce pay?
