The characters were fantastic, the film was very well cast. It was quite odd, but I liked the story and found the whole thing very funny.

Based on this ringing endorsement, I rented it from the internet. Fucking fantastic movie. Reminded me a lot of Damien Rice and Lisa HanniganJackal wrote:Once - 9.5/10

Joshua - 5/10 Quite a violent video game.
edit: WTF? I have no idea why I typed "quite a violent video game" as it is a movie. It wasn't really violent either, just creepy. I'm going to leave my original comment as a wtf factor. Laugh at my alzheimers.

Thank You For Smoking = 8/10 - Hilarious and well done.
Shoot Em Up = 10/10 - The most fun I've had watching a movie in at least a year. A complete blast of entertainment start to finish.

Re: The last movie you saw
I wouldn't give it a 10/10 but it was a highly enjoyable film.
Re: The last movie you saw
I am Legendary Faggot: 5/10. This was an hour long Outer Limits episode stretched to the 100 minute mark. Good concept and it started strong...then, the script realized it had too little story, got drunk and tried to sprint to the finish in a blaze of weak cgi monstermash and random plot devices. Will Smith was fine, but the story needed much more meat and the creature effects needed a massive upgrade. This type of movie always fares better when the nasties are kept lurking, grunting, and shambling just out of sight.

This movie is a giant fucking pile of shit. The writing, acting, and effects were all unbelievably awful. Way too many cliche, cheesy lines in this film to make it an effort worth anything really.
To sum things up, this is a giant wad of hollywood trash. If you respect yourself in anyway, don't watch it.

I was really looking forward to this one... The trailer was hilarious. But most the good laughs are in the trailer.

Before the devil knows you're dead - Depressing and very well acted, Hoffman once again fucking owns - 8/10
Matrix Reloaded - Heh, quite a lot of bullshit ('The Architect' is particularly hilarious with his verbal masturbation) but the 'highway scene' is undeniably sensational - 6/10

I can't imagine anyone who didn't already know the whole story being able to follow the convaluted storyline.

Stardust 7/10
Based on a story by Neil Gaiman. A few parts made me laugh outloud. I particularly like this genre (adult fairy tales). The director says he wanted to make a "princess bride meets midnight express" type movie. He did a decent job.

Elizabeth - 8/10
British historical drama at it's best. Fantasic performances by Cate Blanchett and Geoffrey Rush, and overall great sets and atmosphere. I really like the subleties of not introducing any of the characters properly (a la the Hollywood way), and leaving a lot of the story unstated, and to be read between the lines.
Elizabeth: The Golden Age - 7/10
10 years later and with a much larger budget it is not so much a classic British historical drama, but rather a fantasy epic in the wake of Lord of the Rings. Visually impressive, but not nearly as subtle story-wise as it's predecessor, which is a shame. No less entertaining though, although the acting felt a bit over the top, as well as the cinematography, which means it doesn't deserve as high a grade.

Re: The last movie you saw
movies i've seen in the last couple weeks-
orgazmo- 6 or 7/10 a mormon is coerced into doing porn but they have a "stuntcock" to do the penetration scenes. from the makers of south park, so it was pretty funny, but i was also pretty intoxicated.
adaptation- 8.8/10- this movie was fucking awesome. post-modern intellectual meets redneck mental breakdown face-the-world mindfuck. but it was a little on the boring side at times hence the 8.8.
they live- 8/10- pure genius. if you haven't seen this shit, you need to see it. it's about aliens taking over the planet using subliminal messaging shit that can only be seen if you wear special glasses. it's great.

Hah, I agree with you a out Mtrix Reloaded, quite a lot of bullshit, but reasonably entertaining. My boss made up a better ending for the movie, though.

American Gangster - 6.5/10. The whole idea was good... but something about this movie I just didn't like. One thing being that is was three hours long.
30 Days of Night - 4/10. This was just garbage. Everything now is either a zombie flick or a shoot em up.
The Brave One - 5/10. This movie was funny. Jodie Foster and her boyfriend get jumped in a park. He dies, she's scared of the world and just starts shooting random people... Every time she killed someone, we just laughed.
No Country for Old Men - 9/10. Yes. A shoot em up. But a good one. I've always been a fan for Tommy Lee Jones and I like seeing him in a new flick. I also enjoyed that way it was filmed which (surprise to me) the boyfriend pointed out: None of the three main characters are in the same scene at the same time. Shadows: yes. Feet under a door: yes. Faces and interaction: no. Very clever. Bravo.
Hitman - 9/10. I LOVED this movie. Another shoot em up... but... something about it. Fantastic. I'll be buying this. And Timothy Olyphant looked HOT with a shaved head. I know you guys give a shit.
Michael Clayton - ??/10. Unfortunetly I was very pissed off when I watched this movie so I did miss a lot of it... I'm going to have to see it again.
I am Legend - 4/10. And the only reason it's even getting a score that high is because I really liked the idea and Will Smith hits on a mannequin. This movie was butchered and a total disappointment.

Why is that clever? It is true, but why do you think it's clever?
