What the christ?

Post by Foo »

I'm running Vista x64

I'm saving a picture from the hypernets and notice that it's asking me to save it into c:\windows\system32 (odd)

I then noticed that there's a config.nt file in there that was last modified date of 2 days ago (suspicious)

I then try drag the file to notepad and it won't open.

I close the explorer window after saving the naked e-lady (natch) to a more suitable location, then open an explorer window on c:\windows\system32

The config.nt isn't there anymore.

Tried setting view all files, no dice. Checked out a few kb articles, apparently the 16-bit subsystem of which config.nt forms a part isn't even part of x64 windows builds.

So what the christ? I'm a bit paranoid about this because I didn't mess with anything 2 days back and suddenly my working directory is \system32\. I get the impression this rig might be compromised (omg not my porns!)
